Scissor Sisters Get Rox Appeal posted by Kevin-SSPB at 12:38 PM
The artists appearing on the War Child album have been revealed, with the likes of Beck, Elbow and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to perform covers for the charity.

Entitled Heroes, the album will see the famous bands and singers, including Lily Allen, Hot Chip and The Kooks, covering a variety of songs, from U2 to Elvis Costello.

Elbow will be covering U2's Running To Stand Still, while Franz Ferdinand will cover Blondie's Call Me. Scissor Sisters' covering Roxy Music's 'Do The Strand'.

Guy Garvey, from Elbow fame, says the project is for a worthy cause.

"War Child do exactly what it says on the tin. These kids shouldn't be in such circumstances in the first place, but they are, so thank god someone's doing something about it," he states.

Sir Paul McCartney added his voice to the campaign, saying he supports the charity, which works to help children in conflict around the world.

He urges everyone to join the cause and give their "time, energy and support" to the initiative.
